Asbestos Testing in Detroit, Mi

Many customers call us wondering how they'll make the time to drop off their samples. "Robert" lived in Detroit, Michigan, and wasn't sure how he'd get his asbestos samples to us when he worked his 9-5. Life stops for no one, least of all for asbestos analysis! He called us, concerned he'd have to go on his lunch break to get the samples to us. What did we tell him? Don't worry, we accept samples any time, open or closed. Our drop box is available 24/7, so here's what you have to do!

First, fill out our form. Forms are available above the drop box or easy-access to print on our website. In terms of the latter, each type of client, non-account/homeowner and account/official client has their own specific one, so make sure you fill out the correct one. Luckily, though, we have instructions for each respective form on their pages. The basics you need to keep in mind, though, are that we need your contact information, the turnaround time, and the test you like all filled out.

Otherwise, we need to contact you for clarification. In the case of Robert's Detroit, Michigan asbestos project, he forgot to fill in the turnaround time he wanted. So, we had to email him and ask for what he would like. See, we can't proceed without all of the above pieces of information, as the chain of custody is considered a contract between the laboratory and the client. We can't make any changes to your form and require email confirmation of any corrections you would like to make. So, make sure you fill out everything properly, or else there may be delays in getting your results to you! The instructions should detail every step you need to take, but you're always free to call us during business hours.

Second, make sure your samples are properly packaged and sealed. This means that you must double bag your sample and make SURE that the form is not in the same bag as said sample. Keep in mind that we're working with potential cancer-causing materials. We don't want to touch it, you don't want to touch it, and if any of them do then we need to deep clean with proper filtered vacuums and make you re-fill out your form! So, at the most basic level: double bag your sample, paperclip your form to it, and then submit. Nothing hazardous should touch anything we wouldn't typically need gloves for.

Third, deliver the samples to us. This can be done through shipping or through dropping off in-person. We already have an article about whether or not you qualify for free shipping, which you can find here. In the event that you'd like to drop them off in person, though, you just need to head to the drop box location listed on our website. Regardless of the time you arrive, whether 3AM or 3PM, the drop box is open in an unlocked lobby. During work hours, you can even ring the labeled doorbell up and to the right of said drop box.

We strive to be accessible and available, though we won't be able to answer any questions after five o'clock. If you want any clarification from us during this time, feel free to email us and we'll get back to you as soon as possible. Beyond that, we hope this article has been helpful in explaining what to do for our drop box processes. Whether you need asbestos testing in Detroit, Michigan or beyond, we're always happy to help.
